In the cellar – Villa Vieja

SHIRAZ MALBEC, VILLA VIEJA, MENDOZA, ARGENTINA 2013.

With “Jugged Hare” and Pressa de Pata Negra a fruity red would work very well! So why not try the Shiraz Malbec for such a comforting plate of food!

From the Zuccardi family comes an excellent range of wines under the Villa Vieja label from Mendoza in Argentina. Headed by Jose Alberto Zuccardi, the family team tend to vineyards which are almost desert-like, experiencing 350 days of sunshine a year. Irrigation is provided by melt water from the nearby Andes, allowing the family to produce wonderfully fresh and tender fruit, ensuring all of their wines are packed with fruity flavours.

New and Old World grapes blend well to create exciting, modern, fresh wines. The purple Shiraz-Malbec wine has aromas of dark berry fruits with a plummy and dark cherry palate with a hint of liquorice.

Bon appetite!
