In 1944 Trader Vic tested this drink on friends visiting from Tahiti.?Mai Tai Roa Ae!? one exclaimed. In Tahitian this translates to ?out of this world, the best!? We combine Pyrat XO Rum, fresh lime juice, Triple Sec and Orgeat syrup with a float of Myers Dark Rum and a dash of angostura.

Ingredients / Step By Step

  • 2 Pyrat XO Rum
  • 0.5 Lime Juice
  • 0.5 Orgeat
  • Dash of Angostura
  • 0.5 Curacao/Triple Sec
  • Float Myers Rum
  • Orange Slices / Mint Sprig (Garnish)


  1. Shake all ingredients (except Myers Rum) with ice
  2. Strain into ice filled glass
  3. Float the Myers Rum
