In recent years, it has become increasingly common for wedding parties to serve their guests a variety of styles of sparkling wine. Champagne is, of course, widely regarded as the traditional choice, particularly for toasts, yet couples are beginning to broaden their horizons and seek less common alternatives, notably Prosecco, English sparkling wine or Crémant de Loire.

On average, a UK wedding requires 44 bottles of sparkling wine, therefore it is of great importance that you taste a range of options prior to the event in order to choose the bottle that satisfies your own taste, that of your guests and your budget.

The Crémant from Domaine Langlois Chateau, is a perfect example of the quality of the sparkling wines from the Loire region of France. The estate itself possesses a rich history, spanning well over a century. Original owner, Edouard Langlois, was killed in combat during the First World War, sending the previously thriving business into a period of financial trouble. However, the quality of the wines being produced meant that such struggles were short lived and, in 1973, Maison Bollinger bought into the business, stabilising the finances and allowing the team to concentrate on what they did best ? making fantastic wines!

This blend of Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc is made using the traditional sparkling style and displays a lively, fresh and elegant character with complex fruit notes ? most notably quince, peach and grapefruit.
